10 Things About LEGO That Makes Being An Adult Awesome!

I love LEGO as much as the next kid, but I love LEGO way more than the next adult! I remember growing up as a kid, my uncle was a plastic moulder by trade, and receiving buckets – neigh! CRATES of LEGO after one of his testing experiments back at the factory.

There are very few things I love more than LEGO, like a good cup of tea and a day in bed with a self-adhered dose of series, slipping me into a pleasant coma of happiness.

To show you how happy it makes me to love all things LEGO, I’ve found 10 things about LEGO that make being an adult even more awesome. Check them out!

I recently had the privilege of attending Fashioning Africa hosted at MOAD in the cultural hub of Johannesburg – The Maboneng Precinct.

For the launch of the LG #GFlex, LG title sponsored the Sunday event, produced by the exceptionally talented and world reknown fashion choreographer, Jan Malan. In essence, the idea was to effectively show how LG’s innovative technology, meshed with design could compliment fashion. The design is unique as it was manufactured to fit the curve of the human face. Throughout the ‘Capsule Collection’, veteran and upcoming African designers had the opportunity to strut their collections whilst promoting the #GFlex as the ultimate fashion accessory.

This LEGO Camera Makes The World A Better Place

Dear Flashers!!

As you are probably all aware by now, I tend to be a little weird.
With most photographers we see things a little differently from everyone else. This, however, has changed the way I see the camera.

Useless Fact For The Day: I have blessed my camera with the name “Coco Chanel” because she’s is black, sleek, beautiful & makes me happy by allowing to speak in a French accent when she is in my hands.

The Friendship Between A Greek & A Jew [Senior Portraits]

Ollo Flashers!!

So I have posted these before but I’ve since upped my game and thought this was the perfect opportunity to show what’s been happening. “The Friendship Between A Greek & A Jew” is no joke. Two of my best friends who happen to be in-fact “Best Friends” put on their Matric Dance dresses to help out a friend of ours who needed help with her makeup portfolio. Nikita has this incredible plot out by Lanseria with long yellow tinged grass, a porch swing stuck in the veld and a naturally distressed hut. These all made for incredible props. We’re at the point in our lives where we’re responsible for making our own fun & this happened to be one of the results that turned up. Alcohol was most definitely NOT involved (Yes.Yes it was!). Don’t be silly 😉

A massive thank you to these two girls for going through the plucking, tweezing and crying in preparation for the day. You’re both beautiful and have the incredible personalities too. Hope you’re both ready for round two coming up this Autumn 😉

Beautiful Maternity Photo Ideas [Including Studio Lighting Setup]

Beautiful Maternity Photo Ideas

I’ve been scouting the web looking high and low for Beautiful Maternity Photographs for my cousin whom I’ll be photographing in 2 weeks for this very excercise (If she doesn’t pop before then). I’ve used Google Images, Pinterest, Stock Photography Sites and Websites and I’ve found some really cute and well executed portraits. I wanted something that was done in good taste, showing off the natural beauty of a mother to be, especially a first timer. So show off her bump and still bring out the best in her. Whether she would be naked (But concealed) in a silhouette or draped in clothing.

This next one is my ultimate favourite. But it needs to be documented throughout the pregnancy and majority of the clients only decide to do their maternity shoot at the lat minute which is really unfortunate because this is a beautiful idea!

This last one is for photographers really. By the way, I take no credit whatsoever for these photographs. If one of them is yours, please let me know and I’ll be more than happy to give you credit because I appreciate the photographers code of copyright 😉

This is how your studio and lights should be setup for the indoor shoot if that’s what you’re going for. For me, personally, I love my natural light and much prefer the outdoors as a natural backdrop.

Matric Dance Makeup Photo Shoot [Behind The Scenes]

Matric Dance Makeup Photo Shoot

A friend of mine has recently launched her Professional Makeup services called, Miss Glamour-Eyes. So in order to get the word out there abut what she’s capable of we decided to do our very photo shoot to not only show-off her incredible talent but to also give FFM a chance to do some amazing photography. It started at 12pm Saturday the 16th of June on the outskirts of Johannesburg, heading toward Lanseria Airport. A friend of ours has this open plot in the middle of absolutely nowhere and the I thought the scenary would look spectacular for the purpose of the shoot. So for those readers who aren’t aware of what “Matric” is, it’s the senior year for teens (Grade 12) and the Matric Dance is the equivalent to Prom Night. So this is just a quick slideshow of Behind The Scenes with FFM Photography and Miss Glamour-Eyes. Props go out to our two stunning models, Nikita Saber and Helen Stratis.

The day was nothing short of entertaining. As girls usually are with getting dolled up, it took hours!! I’m pretty slap dash when it comes to makeup and so I like to keep it simple and under 10 minutes of effort. Which is completely do-able. Day light started fading and so we started to shoot at about 2:30-3pm and took a good 45min to an hour to do Helen’s shoot while Nikita got ready and dawdled. (Sorry friend, but it was long winded). The wait was worth every second and when the time had come to shoot Nikita, the sun had begun to set and the backdrop of open highveld was spectacular.

Nikita Saber, an up and coming solo artist and good friend was kind enough to allow us the use of her house for the shoot, which in turn had some amazing location spots for the shoot. She’s extremely talented and you should definitely keep an eye for her. Helen, her best friend and one of my closest mates also graced us with her Greek presence. In the shots I took she stole the show with her untapped Mediterranean look and the sun reflecting off her olive skin was just the perfect natural touch we needed to make her portraits a success.
